There are some shoots as a photographer that truly stick with you. Little Kennedy Grace’s 5th birthday photoshoot was absolutely an amazing time. I swear, It feels like just yesterday that I captured her big brother Chris for his graduation back in 2016. Now here we are, celebrating this adorable superstar’s big milestone. Oh, how time flies!
We’d actually planned to photograph Kennedy Grace when she was first born, but you know how life gets — schedules didn’t quite align. Now, five years later, it all came together perfectly, and I honestly wouldn’t have had it any other way. Kennedy’s energy and excitement made this session one of the easiest and most joyful I’ve ever had. Her excitement was so infections.
From the moment she stepped into the studio, she was buzzing with anticipation. She was so excited for her very first photoshoot, and it showed in every single frame. I barely had to direct her because she was just so naturally in the moment. You could tell she was loving every second of it, and let me tell you — that kind of enthusiasm is contagious!
the shoot plan
We planned out 4-5 adorable outfits for her 5th birthday photoshoot, and each one was more precious than the last. Kennedy rocked a cute leather pleated skirt paired with a personalized t-shirt that had her name on it, a sparkly dress with fur sleeves that screamed “future star,” and a couple of other super sweet dresses that brought out her personality. We even had balloons and flowers as props to keep things fun and colorful. And that personalized t-shirt? It was the perfect touch to make the shoot uniquely hers.
Kennedy’s excitement was everything! She twirled, jumped, smiled, and giggled her way through the session, and honestly, I think we both had a blast. Her joy reminded me of the pure fun and creativity that comes with children’s photography — it’s all about letting their little personalities shine through. Kennedy Grace was a natural, and I have no doubt she’ll be the star she’s destined to be.
And of course, I can’t forget about her amazing mom, Kimberly! I’ve had the pleasure of photographing Kimberly for her own birthday several years back, and it’s been incredible to capture these moments for their family over the years. It feels like a full-circle moment to now be photographing little Kennedy.
happy birthday, kennedy!
This session wasn’t just a photoshoot — it was a celebration of Kennedy’s bright spirit and everything she’s growing into. I’m beyond grateful to have been a part of it, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this little star! Happy 5th Birthday!
