A Vibrant Street Style Photoshoot in Miami’s Design District

Lisa’s birthday trip to Miami is a memory I’ll never forget. She isn’t just my best friend; she’s more like a sister. So, when it came time to celebrate her 31st birthday, we knew we had to do something special. A group of us packed our bags, headed to Miami, and made it a weekend to remember.

Of course, no trip with Lisa would be complete without a photoshoot! These are some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken, and looking back, I can’t believe I haven’t shared them until now. It’s time to fix that.

We started off in the Miami Design District, where Lisa rocked this bold street style look — a black tank top with cutouts, army fatigue pants, and Jordan Bred sneakers. We found the perfect spot in a parking deck, which gave the whole thing a cool, urban vibe that matched her energy perfectly.

Next, we switched things up with something a bit more glam. Lisa slipped into this gorgeous orange bodycon dress, and we found the most incredible backdrop outside the Fendi store. The yellow walls were like they were made for her outfit. It was one of those moments where everything just clicked. Lisa was glowing (maybe moreso from sweating from the heat 😂), and I was so happy to be there to capture it.

Finally, we ended the day back at our Airbnb, where we did a more laid-back but still stunning look by the pool. Lisa wore a black maxi dress and heels, and the contrast between her outfit and the water was just beautiful. These portraits felt like the perfect way to wrap up the day — simple, elegant, and so very Miami.

But honestly, the photoshoot was just one part of an amazing weekend. We spent the rest of the trip living it up! We danced our way through Miami’s nightlife, had an incredible dinner at Grails Miami (seriously, it was so good), and even spent a day out on a yacht. Oh, and I finally tried mangos with Tajin for the first time — life-changing. Why did no one tell me how good that is?

Looking back, I’m just so happy to have these photos of Lisa. This trip was about more than just celebrating her birthday — it was about celebrating our friendship and making memories that we’ll always carry with us. I’m so glad I got to document it in a way that feels true to who we are. Sharing these photos now brings back all the good vibes from that weekend, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
