There are certain milestones that you simply just can’t help but celebrate. For Shannon, her 50th birthday couldn’t pass without the proper acknowledgement, so she decided to book her 50th Birthday Photoshoot. It’s such a blessing, so when Shannon reached out to me to photograph her 50th birthday, I couldn’t say no.
We opted for a unique photoshoot right here in Raleigh, NC. The theme? A cinematic nod to her love for movies, complete with a director’s chair, clapboard, candles, and cupcakes.
But this wasn’t just about turning 50th; it was also a tribute to the 30 beautiful years she’s spent with her husband, Bryan. The photoshoot had two parts: a celebratory, movie-themed birthday shoot and a series of intimate, classy photos with her husband. The goal was to capture not just the moment, but the essence of their journey together.
“I want to go into this next chapter knowing that there’s nothing wrong with speaking up, slowing down, forgiving, relaxing, and not being too hard on myself or those around me.”
This session was all about embracing who she is and the love that has grown and flourished over three decades. From the playful energy of the birthday set to the warmth and connection in the couple’s portraits, every image tells a story of joy, love, and the courage to celebrate life’s milestones.
Shannon is truly a beautiful person inside and out, so it was simply an honor to work together.
