The real secret to beautiful photos isn’t in your outfit… it’s in your energy, your confidence, and the people who help bring that out of you.

When people ask me how to prepare for a photoshoot, they usually expect me to talk about clothes, hair, or props. And yes, all of that matters but if we’re being real, the best thing you can bring to your photoshoot isn’t something that fits in a bag.

It’s a person.

Bring your ride or die. The person who makes you feel like the best version of yourself everytime you’re around them. The one who hypes you up without overdoing it. The one who helps you relax, laugh, and reminds you that you look amazing… because you do!

Confidence is one of those things that you can’t fake for too long, and joy always shows up in photos. And so do forced smiles. When you feel comfortable and genuinely supported, it changes everything about how you carry yourself in front of the camera and in life!

Now… for a little moment of honesty!

We all love our kids, but sometimes they can unintentionally steal the spotlight. If you’re taking solo portraits or branding photos, and your little one is tugging at your leg asking for snacks or attention… it’s hard to stay in that confident headspace. This is your day too, and it’s okay to have this moment just for you.

The same goes for anyone who might unintentionally shift your mood. If you know someone tends to frustrate you, joke a little too much, or has a habit of giving unsolicited unhelpful “advice” from the sidelines (sometimes that’s simply a parent simply being a parent, haha!) it’s totally fine to let them cheer you on… but from afar. Protect your peace and your energy during the shoot.

So yes, plan your outfits, get your nails done, steam your clothes… but when it comes to deciding who to bring, choose the person who makes you feel grounded, confident, and seen. At the end of the day, the most beatiful thing you can wear is how you feel and the right energy makes that shine every single time.
