That’s exactly how it felt planning Oriana’s 2024 ECU grad photos here in Raleigh. From our very first chat, I could tell this was going to be a perfect fit. Oriana, who’s graduating with her master’s degree from East Carolina University, had a clear vision: keep it simple, timeless, chic, and just a little editorial. Honestly, that’s my favorite vibe, so I was all in.
Oriana arrived at the studio with her mom (who, by the way, is just the sweetest), I could see where she gets her amazing energy from. Fun fact: it was actually her mom who found me and made sure Oriana booked her session. Gotta love a mom who understands the assignment. 🤗
Oriana’s plan was to mix it up with cap-and-gown shots, professional headshots, and some full-body looks—and let me tell you, she absolutely nailed it. I meant literal chef’s kiss perfection. She opted for:

We kept the shoot minimal and cohesive with props like textbooks, white roses, and of course, her cap and gown. She loves neutrals, so we worked with a brown and clean white backdrop to complement her looks. The final shots? Pure magic. Every photo felt like it belonged in a magazine.
Getting to Know Oriana
Oriana is graduating with a master’s degree in Sociology, focusing on Community Development, and she’s one of those people who inspires you just by being herself. When she’s not tackling big projects or presentations, she loves shopping, reading, and checking out new restaurants. Her sense of style is effortlessly chic—think neutral tones, like her favorite brown leggings and cream-colored sweater.
