One of my favorite things about doing Raleigh NC Branding Photos is witnessing the moment a client steps fully into a new season—and that’s exactly what happened with this one.
Candace is a mental health therapist and a first-time children’s book author, and she booked my Social Snippet branding session because she wanted images for her author bio, website, and Instagram. She didn’t want to look overly “corporate” or stiff—her words, not mine—and I was so here for that. She wanted to look confident, approachable, and full of joy. And as someone who’s finally stepping out of what she called her “hiding era,” she deserved nothing less.

We kept things playful and intentional. We used a clean white backdrop, then switched things up with a bold yello. It brought such fun energy to the session. Candace brought small vases of flowers to sprinkle around her orange chair setup, plus colorful balloons and confetti to celebrate this huge milestone. The confetti on the yellow backdrop gave me total Crayola box vibes—in the best way possible.

If you’re planning your own brand shoot, here’s something I always tell my clients:
don’t create content based on your photos—create photos based on your content.
Candace came in with a clear idea of what platforms she needed images for. She knew what kind of energy she wanted to give off. She also had a clear idea of what kind of photos would feel aligned with her brand as a therapist and new author. That clarity made all the difference.

This session is the perfect example of how Raleigh NC branding photos don’t have to be cookie-cutter . With thoughtful planning and a little creativity, you can walk away with a gallery that feels like you… and works for you.
