Every now and then I leave a session feeling like, yeah… this is why I do this.
Timelia came in to celebrate her 28th birthday, and this was her very first professional photo shoot ever. She told me she wanted the vibe to be super glamorous, classy, and sexy… full magazine cover energy. Since she wasn’t traveling for her birthday this year, the shoot was how she decided to treat herself.

So we went all in.
Red dress.
Big rose bouquet.
Flowing red fabric to build out the set.
Halfway through the shoot, she started crying. Not sad tears. That kind of cry that happens when you finally see yourself the way other people already do. It was beautiful.
She told me she’s the type of person who pours into everyone else — work, family, friends — and rarely slows down to pour back into herself. This shoot wasn’t just about turning 28. It was about choosing herself.
And that’s why I love birthday sessions so much. They aren’t really about the outfit or the roses or the lighting. They’re about reminding you that you’re allowed to feel beautiful, confident, and celebrated… without waiting for permission.
If you’ve been thinking about doing something like this but keep telling yourself “maybe next year,” let this be your sign. Let’s chat about your session. Timelia had never done a shoot before… and look what happened when she finally said yes to herself.
