When it comes to weddings, I always say the day should reflect you. Kate and Conrad understood that perfectly when they decided to host an intimate Raleigh backyard wedding.
It wasn’t about extravagance or trends, it was about creating a day surrounded only by the people who truly mattered. Their guest list had one rule: “invite only those who if we called them right now, without hesitation, they’d be there for us.” I don’t know about you, but I love that rule. It set the tone for a day that was meaningful, laid back, and full of joy.
Inside their Intimate Raleigh Backyard Wedding
The day kicked off with details that showed off their personalities. As sneaker heads, Kate, Conrad and their son Jacob all wore matching silver Jordan One sneakers. They even included Jordan Jumpman pins for the guys.
Jacob doubled as their ring bearer, while their dog Bullitt and their flower man rounded out the wedding party. It was a mix of hearfelt energy and fun in the best way possible.
Kate got ready in their master bedroom while Conrad prepped in his office upstairs. No stress, no rush, just a natural flow into the celebration. Their backyard was transformed into a beautiful ceremony space with a white pergola draped in soft blue and white fabric, surrounded by florals and lanterns. 20 wooden chairs lined the aisle, which was sprinkled with white petals, creating the dremiest (but still simple) backdrop for their vows.
After the “I do”, we took portraits that felt straight out of a magazine, but with a personal twist. The couple hopped into their white Corvette, decked out with a “Just Married” sign and custom wedding license plate. The energy was all love and laughter. Kate looked stunning in her sleek gown with a high slit (efforless and modern). While Conrad looked like a boss in his patterned black tux jackey and those fresh sneakers. Together, they radiated style and ease.
What I loved the most about their intimate Raleigh backyard wedding was how it reflected them: intentional, easy going, and full of personality. It was proof that a wedding doesn’t have to be packed out like the club to be unforgettable. Sometimes, the best moments come when you strip down everything to what really matters — love, family, and a little bit of fun.
Kate and Conrad, thank you again for inviting me into such a special part of your story. It was an honor to photograph your intimate Raleigh backyard wedding and capture the love, joy, and all the unforgettable little details that made your day yours. Congratulations on celebrating your first anniversary — here’s to many more years filled with love, laughter, and sneakers.
